Northern Greece 🇬🇷 from Thessaloniki- 5 Days

When we think of Greece, we usually think of islands, the Acropolis, and music. But there’s another part of Greece, fascinating and exciting, authentic and wild.
Greece that flows with new scents, unfamiliar sights, delicious local food, warmth, and a special love from its unique residents – the mountain dwellers.

Greece of turquoise lakes nestled between ridges and varied peaks, Greece of picturesque villages nestled among dense forests near springs or streams. Greece of monasteries surrounded by breathtaking views, appearing suddenly to the observer’s eye, filled with an air of sanctity and the scent of intense burning incense.

Greece of ancient taverns located on the banks of endless rivers, specializing in the preparation of freshly caught fish. Greece of spring, adorned with a variety of stunning colors – from the unmatched turquoise of the lakes to the captivating green of the dense forests.

For us motorcyclists, Greece is an endless playground with mostly twisted roads, and breathtaking views!

Route plan

DAY 1:

Our tour in the northern region starts in Athens, where we will take our modern and well-maintained motorcycles and set off. We will pass through the famous Corinth Canal and ride northward through the Peloponnese Peninsula. We’ll ride on small and curved roads alongside giant highways, blend the ride with a 5 meter away of the coast, and then enter the mountainous region of the Peloponnese.
We’ll cross the famous Rio-Antirrio bridge and camp on the stunning beaches of Nafpaktos for our first night.

DAY 2:

On the second day, we’ll start by riding towards the beautiful and picturesque north. We’ll pass through amazing turquoise water lakes among tangled forests and head towards the Karditsa-Karpenisi area. We’ll ride on twisted roads and stay in a boutique hotel from the legends.
At night, we’ll dance until dawn in an authentic tavern.

DAY 3:

The morning of the third day will be dedicated to riding. First, we’ll head towards the picturesque town of Moutsouna, stroll among the local cottages, and enjoy the local foods of northern Greece’s residents.
Towards the evening, we’ll reach the famous Meteora, known for its monasteries hanging on the cliffs. Meteora is one of the seven wonders of the world, beauty and power reflected in front of our eyes incomprehensibly.
At night, we’ll sleep down the mountains in luxurious hotels with a breathtaking view.

DAY 4:

We’ll start the fourth day with a trip to the Meteora mountains at dawn. The sight of the monasteries at sunrise has been ingrained in our minds for many years.
From there, we’ll ride on crazy mountain roads towards the town of Karpenisi, the famous ski resort and the capital of the north. We’ll pass by the sinking church and ride between lakes and forests on a southern course. In the evening, we’ll arrive at the most special hotel in the area, and at night, we’ll go to a local tavern where four generations of women work and cook, each pot of stew has a unique taste.

DAY 5:

The fifth day of our tour will begin with a wild forest view. We’ll listen to the birds singing and hear the flow of water in the stream that crosses the hotel garden. After a hearty breakfast, we’ll gear up for a ride south towards beautiful Athens. We’ll continue riding and pass through Kamena Vourla, the kite and vacation city of Greek citizens, and depart from there on the special roads to Athens.

In the afternoon, we’ll arrive at our motorcycle company offices. We will return the motorcycles, say goodbye to our friends, and everyone will return home on their own flight.
