Crete Tour plan: 5 Days Trip, 4 Days of Riding

Crete is one of the regions of Greece and the largest island. It is considered one of the most popular tourist destinations in Greece, offering luxurious hotels, authentic cuisine, taverns open until dawn, stunning coastal roads, viewpoints, and breathtaking nature reserves – all in one place.
Experience this once-in-a-lifetime adventure on a motorcycle.

Route plan

Day 1: From Heraklion to Agios Nikolaos

We will start the first day of our tour in Heraklion, the capital of Crete and our meeting point for receiving the motorcycles. Heraklion is a bustling resort town with day and night activities. We will ride through mountains and hills, stopping at unique towns and breathtaking viewpoints.
We will ride up the mountain until we reach the mountain village of Krasi, home to an enormous 2,400-year-old plane tree. From there, we will continue to the Diktaean Cave, which houses an ancient temple. After a tour of the cave, we will ride towards Fourni, an archipelago composed of several small islands. We will refresh at the beach of Kato Selas, visit unique monasteries, and then end the day at a luxurious hotel in Agios Nikolaos.
We will get organized and head out for a delightful dinner.

Day 2: From Agios Nikolaos to Makry Gialos

We will start the second day with a rich breakfast and hot coffee overlooking a stunning view, then get organized and continue eastward from Agios Nikolaos towards Mochlos, a modern town on a unique seaside with an amazing viewpoint.
From there, we will ride on curved roads towards the port city of Sitia, which offers many recreational places and hotels. We will continue to ride along the coastline, passing through monasteries and authentic villages, refreshing at a local tavern. After that, we will head further south and stop at a breathtaking viewpoint of the Aegean Sea.
This day will be full of stops at pastoral beaches and riding on stunning coastal roads with mountainous and green landscapes towards our hotel.
We will get organized and go out for dinner together as a group.

Day 3: From Makry Gialos to Matala

We will start the third day of our tour in Ierapetra, a beautiful and modern city with a rich history. From there, we will continue west along Crete’s southern coastline, stopping at unique fishing villages with stunning beaches.
We will visit a local tavern and then ride to another picturesque seaside village named Tsoutsouros.
We will ride up mountains and hills, passing through monasteries, churches, and isolated ancient villages. Afterward, we will head south along the coastline and stop at Trypitis Gorge, one of the longest and largest gorges in Crete.
From there, we will ride back up the mountain towards our hotel in Matala.

Day 4: From Matala to Heraklion

We will start the fourth day of our tour riding towards Heraklion. We will ride on stunning coastal roads, stopping at picturesque beaches and passing through breathtaking nature reserves with rushing waterfalls, including “The Big Waterfall.”
We will stop at a local café for lunch and refreshments, then continue on twisted roads through villages and towns towards Heraklion. Along the way, we will pass the largest dam in Crete, where the water is a stunning turquoise color. We will then ride back to Heraklion on nicely curved roads, returning the motorcycles in the late afternoon.
We will head to our luxurious hotel in the city, get organized, and go out for a final dinner together, enjoying the best local cuisine.
